After a long & long time, I AM BACK.......

well, this really proves me that I'm really lazy person...I wrote my last blog in September last year....
Actually, I was busy with my personal life. So, could not manage my time yo write a blog....


During this time I had shifted from my home town Kampur to Punjab and then one week ago, again I've shifted from Punjab to New Delhi - the capital of our country.....
And I've got another Daily Deviation by deviantART on 30th December. This is my second DD. Well, I guess that's a good news....

Tezpur

Short description of TEZPUR :-


Tezpur is an ancient city on the banks of the river Brahmaputra and is the largest of the north bank towns and the administrative headquarters of Sonitpur district in the state of Assam in northeastern India.

The name Tezpur is derived from the Sanskrit words 'Teza' (meaning blood) and 'Pura' (meaning town or city). Legend has it that the original name of this place was 'Sonitpur' ("sonit" in Sanskrit also means blood!) but when the battle between Krishna's army and Banasura's army fought for the rescue of Aniruddha (who was the grandson of Lord Krishna, according to legend) there was so much bloodshed that the whole place was stained in red. This led to the name of the place becoming Tezpur.

My Tezpur Journey :-

After returning to home from Punjab (India), on 8th July 2011, I got a chance to visit Tezpur with my father as my father was invited to a meeting organized by VASM. We stayed in Historical "Darrang College" two nights. Though I don't like this kind of meetings, means public gathering, but I didn't want to loss the chance to see that place and capture the beauty in my camera.

On 9th July 2011, I woke up in early morning (around 5.30 AM) and started to walk. But the funny part is I don't know that place, I don't even had a map !!!!!  and I think that was a real craziness, and I know I'm crazy !!!!!!!

Anyway, that day, I was lost for hundred times and sometimes I asked myself "where am I ???".....But I managed to visit most of the places of Tezpur by walking....

I heard that Tepur is a beautiful, clean and peaceful place, and I think yes, it is....There, I got some good photographs, but I believe that one day was not enough to capture the beauty of the whole city in my camera. But unfortunately, I had only one day.....

PHOTOGRAPHS of TEZPUR :-

Mahabhorabi Mandir

This temple is believed to have been established by king Bana in the pre-historical times. This Shiva temple was originally built of stone but the present one was renovated and built with concrete. During the Ahom rule, the kings especially of the Tungkhungiya dynasty donated large area of Devottar land to the Temple and pujaris and Paiks were appointed to look after the temple.

Jahaj Ghat :-

This place isn't in tourist map. But I found this place when I was lost. That was a mistake, but a sweet mistake...

This place is situated on bank of river Brahmaputra. and the view of Brahmaputra from this place was very beautiful.

Ferry point across the Brahmaputra. Original ferry point connected to Silghat on the southern bank of the river. Popular point of immersion of religious idols as the conclusion of Puja activities in Tezpur.

Bamuni Hills :-

The ruins of Bamuni Hills are the most famous. They bear resemblance to the Gupta period art. Historical ruins from the 8th and 9th centuries dot the surrounding areas of this hill.

Cole Park or Chitralekha Udyan :-

Cole Park, Tezpur is a very picturesque park near the centre of Tezpur. It has recently been renamed as Chitralekha Udyan although both names are synonymous. It has had a long tradition of hosting painting/drawing competitions for the nearby schools due the various features it possesses.
The famous Bhomoraguri inscription which recorded the ancient plans to build a bridge across the Brahmaputra where the current Kolia Bhomora Setu exists has been transported to this park for public viewing.
There is a water feature in the form of a lake where small rowing and paddle boats are allowed.

Agnigarh :-

Agnigadh is a hill on the banks of the Brahmaputra which is one of the big tourist attractions in Tezpur. There is a circular stairway leading up to the crest of the hill where there are now sculptures depicting Usha's abduction of Aniruddha, the grandson of Krishna and the ensuing battle by Krishna to free them. There is also a viewing platform with the scenery around the river banks as well as the town centre and the Kolia Bhomora Setu bridge across the Brahmaputra.

 Legend has it that this fortress was surrounded by fire at all times so that nobody could go in or out of the perimeter without permission. Usha fell in love with Aniruddha in her dreams not knowing who he was. Her companion Chitralekha identified him by painting his portrait from Usha's description. Ganesh Ghat :-

One of the most sacred place of Tezpur.And a must visit if you visit this beautiful town.
Rumors has it that the whole city of Tezpur will submerge under the river Brahmaputra ,if flood water touch the tip of Lord Ganesha's idol in this temple.

Darrang College :-


Darrang College also sometimes referred to at times as the Nalanda of the North Bank was started in July 1945 with 8 teachers and 112 students in the roll. Late Kamakhya Prasad Tripathy, a veteran freedom fighter and trade union leader came forward to shoulder the responsibility of the founder Principal of the College. Initially the Classes were held at the banglow of Mr.Arnaldo Duchi, an Italian gentleman who sold the property to the College.
Subsequently, the College was shifted for nearly two years to the American Base Hospital campus at Mission Chariali, then to the Dak Bunglow in the heart of the town, and finally to the present site in the month of October, 1951.
Darrang College has had an eventful career since its inception. His Holiness the Dalai Lama of Tibet visited the College in 1959 after his historic flight from his own land; followed Smt. Indira Gandhi in 1963.
Ever since the College settled in its permanent site, it has been maintaining a high academic standard all through. Darrang College has multiple disciplines for study leading to a Bachelor degree in Arts, Science or Commerece from the Gauhati University.

My Home Town, Kampur

Hello guys....


I'm in my home now....very relaxed and very happy....
Rainy days are not over yet, and I'm enjoying every drop of rain.....


So, today I'm going to write about my small home town "Kampur"...

Well, I guess that's not enough to describe about my home town...


Kampur is situated on the bank of Kapili river. Though the main town is very small, but this area contains more than hundred villages.


Kampur is considered as one of the central place for business and education of this region. In my count, here we have twelve schools, one Higher Secondary school, three Private collages and one govt. Collage.
Before the British, this place was ruled by mighty "Kuch" and "Kochari" kings. The ruins of those time can be seen at various place all around Kampur.

Where every people know about each other, care for each other.....
Where most of the people earns their living mainly from those rice fields and vegetable farms......
Where people don't think about the death of "Michael Jackson" or what will be next step of "Al-Qaeda"......
That's my small home town......and I love it !!!!!"

Some Old Moments....

1. Behind the Clouds -

This is one of my HDR shoot. I took this shoot from the roof of my rent house, as I found the formation of clouds along with the sun rays pretty interesting....I toned it into HDR as I wanted to pup-out the sun rays very clearly....

2. Green eyed -

I think its a pretty cool shoot from my gallery....Actually, I found this cat on the street of Bathinda, near Bhadurgarh Fort....As I'm a crazy cat lover, so I didn't mind to go near her....Fortunately my camera was with me, so I didn't waste any time and brought out my camera and pushed the button....And I edited this image as monochromatic except her green eyes and red nose...

3. The Ladybug -

I don't know about you, but I'm a huge fan of cartoon or animated movies....And in some of my favorite cartoon or animated movies I saw Ladybugs, so you may assume that Ladybug is my favorite too....

I took this photograph when I went to a wheat field near to my rent house with some of my friends....But I didn't find this photograph impressive at first look and more over I didn't shoot it in RAW (CR2) format....and after two months when I saw it again, I thought its not so bad and I knew that I can make it better....So, here it is and I think I love it !!!!!!!
